That You Might Know
Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
But how do you KNOW that you have eternal life?
The letter of 1 John was written so that we might KNOW. Here are some questions from the book to help:

A Christian demonstrates a pattern of obvious obedience to God’s commands. (1 John 2:3-6 bibref1john2 bibref1john2v3 bibref1john2v4 bibref1john2v5 bibref1john2v6) What commands are you clearly obeying? How would you describe your lifestyle in serving the Lord?
A Christian shows love for the brothers. A Christian grows in his confidence and assurance of salvation in Christ. (1 John 5:13 bibref1john5 bibref1john5v13) What would you add to the above answers that describes your confidence that you are saved by Christ?
